A tradition that was
preserved and continued till
now by the residents of our village
is the « breaking of the eggs» in the
days of Easter. This custom was brought here by our ancestors who were refugees from Pontus Euxenus.
Each year, on the second day of Easter, a competition is organised whose winner is the participant with the strongest eggs.
Young people of the village that maintain chickens in their homes participate in this competition.
There are two competitions, one for children and one for adults.
The participants, the last month before Easter choose the strongest eggs from their chickens or from other areas of Greece.
The participants are usually 14-15 people.
Everyone takes part with 30 eggs. In the competition it is allowed only chicken eggs.
On July 26 we celebrate the St Paraskevi Day.
On December 12 we celebrate St Spyridon Day. Both churches of our village were named after these Saints respectively and by celebrating on their nameday we honor them.

From Christmas until Epiphany for twelve days we have religious holidays.
Christmas Eve, New Year and Epiphany we light fires at night in the village squares. With the first light of day, the children sing carols (religious songs) and as a reward housewives give them money.
